Mae Solomon Peacock, age 90, of Ashburn, Virginia died January 17, 2018. She was born November 12, 1927 to the late Lester and Daisy Blundell Solomon in Loudoun County where she has been a lifetime resident. She was a member of the Catoctin Presbyterian Church in Waterford, Virginia where she sang in the church choir for 51 years and served as an elder. After moving to Ashburn in 2009 she joined the Galilee United Methodist Church in Broad Run Farms. She retired from the County of Loudoun in 1990 as an Income Tax Specialist in the Office of the Commissioner of the Revenue.
She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Arthur H. Peacock of Leesburg, a sister, Marie Byrne of Berryville, VA and a brother, Mason Solomon of Ashburn, VA. Survivors include two sons, Charles Peacock of Ashburn, VA and Carroll Peacock and wife Nancy of Leesburg, VA, two granddaughters, Heather Peacock of Round Hill, VA and Stevie Peacock of Miami, Florida. A step granddaughter, Lynn Mercer and husband Mike Mercer, two great granddaughters, Kamryn Peacock and Shelby Glenn, a great grandson Dylan Mercer and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Monday, January 22, 2018 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Colonial Funeral Home of Leesburg, 201 Edwards Ferry Rd, NE, Leesburg, VA 20176, where a service will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Leesburg Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions may be made to Galilee United Methodist Church, 45425 Winding Road, Sterling, VA 20165 or Catoctin Presbyterian Church in Waterford, VA.
