Obituary

Margaret Clarke Phelps "Mitty", 95, of Winchester, Virginia went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 25, 2013 at the Blue Ridge Hospice House Inpatient Care Center in Winchester, Virginia. Mrs. Phelps was born September 6, 1917 in Colonial Heights, Virginia the daughter of Charles Cleveland Clarke and Mary Elizabeth Willoughby Clarke. Margaret worked for the Internal Revenue Service retiring in 1977.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie D Phelps, daughter, Judy Gill Davidson, brothers, former VA State Senator, Andrew W. Clarke, Franklin W. Clarke, Robert I. Clarke, Everett R. Clarke, and sister Betty C. Scariot.
She was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church and a former volunteer of the Winchester Medical Center Auxiliary. She loved her family, church and neighbors.

She is survived by two daughters Leslie A. Beach and her husband Charles,of Williamsburg, VA, Mary E. Farel and her husband Rev. Eric Farel of Winchester, VA. Eight grand children and twelve great grand children. Numerous nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends on Friday, March 29, 2013 from 11:00am to 12:00pm followed by a Celebration of Life Service starting at 12:00pm at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, 1800 Wardensville Grade, Winchester, VA 22602.

On Saturday, March 30, 2013 family will receive friends at Colonial Funeral Home of Leesburg, 201 Edwards Ferry Rd., NE, Leesburg, VA from 10:00am to 11:00am followed by a brief service. Interment will follow at Mount Oak Methodist Church Cemetery in Mitchellville, Maryland.
