Obituary

Marge Ahalt, age 76, passed away on Wednesday April 1, 2009 in Fairfax, VA. She was born in Frederick County Maryland and lived in Urbana, Maryland until marriage then in Middletown Md. most of her adult life. She moved to Leesburg in 1994 and had remained there ever since.

She married the love of her life, Louis Ahalt (passed in 2002), in 1956, and enjoyed 46 1/2 wonderful years of blissful marriage with him. Marge has three children, Louis (Ike) Ahalt and his wife Kathleen Ahalt of Myersville, Md., Bim Ahalt and Debbie Currier of Leesburg, VA, twin sister Nancy Smarr and her husband Clarence of Palm Coast, FL, sister Joanne LaCoste and her husband Gregory of Frederick, MD. and brother Austin Stup, Jr. and his wife Diane of Stafford, VA.

She also has three granddaughters who brought great joy to her life, Kaitlin and Rebecca Ahalt, and Margie Currier. She also leaves behind her dog Maggie Rose. Her immediate and extended family worshiped her and loves her more than words could describe. She was the heart and soul of the entire family. Marge was a surrogate mother and grandmother to many and some who were closest recently included Donna Somers, Ashley Marshall and Tara Sullivan. She was known as Mammy by all of her granddaughter's friends and made them feel loved, always welcome in her home, and showed the current generation of youth what it really meant to be a grandmother.

She was an amazing cook and there was no way possible of not eating when stepping into her home. Marge was a strong lover of the ocean, seashell hunting, birds, deer, driving, gardening, music, books, and food. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a smile and laugh that could light up a room. She remained young at heart her entire life.

She was a true gem. Love followed her anywhere she went. She never met a stranger, and could always lift the spirits of her family and friends with her compassion and warm love. She was a tough old bird who was able to overcome many hardships always with a positive attitude. Marge was the most generous human being most will meet in a lifetime, never putting herself before anyone. She has taken all of our hearts and touched the lives of many. This devoted sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend will never be forgotten. Eternal Love.
