Marguerite Ann Rossi
April 25, 1936 – July 1, 2021
Marguerite "Marge" Ann Rossi, 85, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, July 1, 2021, in Leesburg, VA following a heroic battle with dementia and Alzheimer's. Marge was born to Gerald W. and Alice T. (Larsen) Taylor in Dushore, PA on April 25, 1936. Marge was an excellent student, participated in 4-H and was a cheerleader. She graduated from St. Basil's High School in 1954. In 1958, Marge was crowned queen of the second annual Pennsylvania Bowhunters Festival in Forksville, PA. On April 28, 1962, she married Lieutenant Commander Louis P. Rossi, USN, in Dushore. After spending the first years of their marriage in London, England, Marge and Lou settled in Bethesda, MD where they raised their family. Later in life, having always been devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary, Marge and Lou enjoyed making pilgrimages to Lourdes, Fatima, and Garabandal and attending international conferences on the Divine Will. After Lou's passing into eternity, Marge settled in Fairfield, PA and became an active member of the Catholic community in Fairfield and Emmitsburg, MD.
Marge's faith and family were everything to her. She had a beautiful heart and prayed for others without ceasing. She was a daily Communicant and Adorer of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament for many years, and was a devoted daughter, mother and grandmother. Marge loved to laugh and had a quick wit and a lively sense of humor. She was an avid reader and expert problem solver. She loved animals, especially dogs. Marge relished a friendly and playful competition in cards and board games and nurtured that same fun-loving spirit in her children.
Surviving are three children, James M. Rossi (Patricia) of Leesburg, VA, Carol A. Morel (Joseph) of Stewartstown, PA, and Jane R. Mosser (John) of Findlay, OH; five grandchildren, Mary K. Rossi, Louis G. Rossi, Monica M. Morel, Charles F. Mosser, and Maxwell M. Mosser; sister, Alice T. Carey, of Pittsburgh, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
Marge was preceded in death by her parents, husband Louis P. Rossi on May 11, 2009, sister Elaine M. Seacrist, and brother Gerald J. "Bruz" Taylor.
She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
