María C. Contreras Rodríguez falleció confiada en la bendita esperanza de la resurreccción en la segunda venida del Señor.

Hija de Elías Contreras y María Felicita Burgos.

María vivió una vida ejemplar de servicio procurando siempre el bien de los demás.   Trabajó para el Señor en su obra por largos años apoyando la predicación del evangelio de Jesucristo. Sus labios siempre pronunciaron palabras de aliento y consuelo para los afligidos y necesitados de amor.

Fue una madre dedicada a sus hijos, dejando un ejemplo para ellos de lo que significa el bien hacer y el caminar como cristianos y ciudadadanos respetuosos a las leyes de la tierra y del cielo.

María fue esposa de Manuel Rodríguez quien hoy también descansa en el Señor. Ella nunca perdió la esperanza de volver a verlo cuando el Señor Jesús los resucite en su segunda venida a esta tierra como lo afirma en su palabra en 1 Tesalonicenses 4:16 " … y los muertos en Cristo resucitarán primero".

A María le sobreviven sus hijos:

Quienes la llevan muy dentro de sus corazones.

Hoy afirmamos que fue una madre que vivió una vida con propósito.

Su salmo favorito era el Salmo 23, "Jehová es mi pastor, nada me faltará …"

Su himno favorito era "Aunque en esta vida fálteme riquezas, sé que allá en la gloria tengo mi mansión".

Maria lived an exemplary life of service always sought for the good of others. She worked for the Lord in his work for many years supporting the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Her lips always pronounced words of encouragement and comfort to the afflicted and needy of love.

She was a mother devoted to her children, leaving an example to them of the significance of good actions and to walk as Christians and respectful citizens to the laws of the land and the heavens.

Maria was the wife of Manuel Rodriguez who today also rests with the Lord. She never lost hope of returning to see him when the Lord Jesus resurrects them at his second coming to this earth as he says in his word in 1 Thessalonians 4:16 "... and the dead in Christ will rise first".

Who carry her deep inside their hearts.

Today we affirm that she was a mother who lived her life with purpose.

Her favorite Psalm was the Psalm 23 "The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing... "

Her favorite hymn was "Even though in this life I lack riches, I know beyond the glory I have my mansion"

Family and friends are invited to visit and share the memories between 10:00 am and 11:00 am on Monday, July 3, 2017 at the Colonial Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry Road NE, Leesburg, Virginia 20176 where services will immediately follow starting at 11:00 am.  Burial will follow the service in Sterling Cemetery, 45 835 E Church Rd, Sterling, VA 20164 .
