Mrs. Maria Det T. Nguyen was born December 31, 1926, in Saigon, Vietnam. She was married and had three children (one son and two daughters) and ultimately had three granddaughters in her lifetime. She loved to cook, go grocery shopping, and garden. She was devoted to her faith through the Catholic church and attended mass every Sunday. Her favorite flowers were yellow chrysanthemums, and she unconditionally loved and consistently prioritized her family.

On June 4, 2022, she was taken home by the Lord and passed away on that early Saturday morning in her earthly home in Sterling, Virginia. A Vietnamese mass service will be dedicated in her honor at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church at 46833 Harry Byrd Hwy, Sterling, VA 20164 at 1:00PM. Following the service, the burial will take place at Ketoctin Cemetery at 16595 Ketoctin Church Rd., Purcellville, VA 20132. All are welcome to attend both.

She is survived by her son, two daughters, three granddaughters, who will miss her immensely. Her son, daughters, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, and granddaughters are sad to see her kind, strong heart leave, and we would like to express gratitude from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who has helped and loved her during her life on earth. We also appreciate the support and prayers that have been received.
