Marie "Re" Elizabeth Bell (nee Gorman), age 81, of Ashburn, Virginia passed away Friday morning, August 4 ^th .

Born November 3, 1935 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Dorothy Leonard and William Gorman, Marie graduated from Kensington High School. She was married on November 22, 1957, to James J. Bell, Sr.  James and Marie made their home in Northern Virginia for 32 years, living on Queen Elizabeth Avenue in Annandale.  They moved to Doylestown, Pa. and then spent several years in St. Albans, Vermont.

Marie spent her life devoted to her husband Jim and her only child, James J. Bell Jr., her daughter-in-law Lisa M. Bell, and two beautiful granddaughters Autumn Y. Bell and Josephine J. Bell.  She is predeceased by her only sister Dorothy M. Fee.

For 25 years, Marie worked as a Manager/Controller for Goodway Graphics of VA in Springfield.  She loved cooking, reading, shopping and interior decorating. Her passion and talent was as an artist. Her paintings were often displayed in local community events.  Marie loved to laugh and her laughter would fill a room.  Her joyful spirit inspired and moved everyone who met her.

A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 11:00 am on Friday, August 11, 2017 at Saint John the Apostle Catholic Church, 101 Oakcrest Manor Drive NE, Leesburg, VA 20176.  Burial to follow in St. John's Cemetery.
