Born in Illinois on September 22, 1926 Marie Evelyn Niehaus joined God in heaven on July 26, 2020. She is survived by her two daughters Carla Ryan and her husband Carl Dozier who reside in Palmer Lake, Colorado and Jo Ann Niehaus who lives in Leesburg, Virginia.

She also has five grandsons Jeffry, Joseph, Jeremy, Michael & Colin. From her grandsons she has 8 great grandchildren. She was able to see each and every one of them in the last few years of her life.

Surviving relatives are her sister in law Eleanor Feld and her husband Don Feld in Downers Grove, Illinois.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband Herbert H Niehaus. They were married over 72 years and each claimed the other was the love of their life. Marie was happy being a housewife and mother. Herb served in the Navy for 30 years and Marie stood by him. She enjoyed being a Navy wife and the social life especially playing bridge. Once Herb left the Navy he worked for 10 years in the civilian world.  Herb decided it was time to stop working and he purposely set out to enjoy life with his Marie.

They left Virginia and moved to Tucson, Arizona. Once settled they began traveling and went on many cruises together including Alaska, Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii the Caribbean and much more. They had many friends and learned to play golf and enjoyed the outdoors. They also played bridge on a regular basis and were a very competitive team.

Marie was truly loved by everyone who met her. She entertained on a regular basis and was happy to share her excellent homemade meals with all her friends and family.  She was quick to note she had an amazing life and was very blessed.

Marie will be buried at Arlington Cemetery with the love of her life Herbert at a date to be determined.
