Obituary

A much loved sister, Marion Eleanor Moran, has passed away. Marion died on May 25, 2009 while living at Birmingham Green in Manassas, Virginia. She was one of five children born to parents Lizzie (Dawson) and Herman F. Moran, Sr. Marion was born in the Ashburn area of Virginia on September 30, 1930.

She was employed under ECHO; working in the postal service. Marion enjoyed going to ECHO. She loved her job and enjoyed being around her fellow employees. Going to church and listening to the gospel hymns brought her much pleasure. Marion looked forward to the many times when her family came to take her out for rides in the car. She enjoyed going out to eat. The family remembers a time when Marion adamantly announced she did not like shrimp; while at the same time eating her sister's entire meal of shrimp. But her favorite food was from Kentucky Fried Chicken.

Marion was very vibrant. She loved the color red. She hated gray hair; so she always kept her hair dyed. She loved big, bold, brightly colored jewelry. Not one to keep quiet; she spoke her mind. Marion was very outspoken and could be quite opinionated at times. Which just made her all the more interesting to be around. Her only pet was the family dog, JoJo. He liked no one and tended to be quite mean at times. But he liked Marion and Marion liked him.

Marion will truly be missed by all who knew her. But she leaves behind to share the memories her sister Hazel Wortman and brother Herman F. Moran, Jr. She was predeceased by her parents and sisters Jean Nitowitz and Thelma Burnette.

A graveside service will be conducted in her honor at Union Cemetery, 323 N. King St. Leesburg, Virginia on Friday, May 29, 2009 starting at 10:00 a.m. with the Reverend John Gindlespenger officiating.
