Martin "Marty" Eugene Boyd, of Sterling, VA - beloved husband and brother, loving stepfather, proud grandfather, and great grandfather - passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 16th, 2025 at the age of 81 in Arlington, VA.

He was born November 26th, 1943 to Loretta Helfman, who proceeded him in death.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Julie Boyd; his sister, Darlene (Steve) Hilley and their daughter, Mary; step-daughters, Scarlett Cressel and Michelle Robinson; granddaughter, Erin McCarthy; grandson, Spencer Matuszak; and great grandsons, Dominik and Kole Springs, and Maverick Townes.

Martin and was honored to serve in the United States Military in the Navy as a "Seabee." He worked as a salesman for the remainder of his professional career. He was a hard worker at anything he put his mind to and was a friendly face to whoever met him.

Marty enjoyed time spent with his family. He loved going to wineries and playing cards with his wife, Julie. He loved to draw, paint, and teach magic tricks to his grandson and his great grandsons. Marty was a published poet and loved to play his trumpet and guitar. He had traveled to many countries and had great stories to tell all. Marty cared greatly for all of his pets throughout the years. Marty will be greatly missed and remembered for his loving heart, and devotion to his family.

There will be a private family ceremony held at Quantico National Cemetery in early September.
