Marvin A. Price of Ashburn, VA, passed away on January 27, 2013, at Ashby Ponds retirement community at the age of 103. While he lived most of his life in Nebraska and California, he was born in Kanopolis, KS, on January 17, 1910, to LeRoy and Ethel Price. He was the oldest of three children. In 1935 he married Elsie Brown to whom he was married for 67 years until her death in 2003.
Marvin had a remarkable career that ranged from broadcasting to electrical and systems engineering. He also enjoyed music and played the saxophone, clarinet, and flute as a radio musician for KMMJ in Nebraska before recorded music became part of the radio scene. He continued his interest in music throughout his life, even to his years as a resident of Ashby Ponds where he played the flute for the "Songbirds" choral group.
He is survived by his daughter Betty who lives in Ashburn.
A memorial service will be held at Ashby Ponds, Ashburn, VA, on Saturday, February 2 at 2:00 p.m., followed by a reception. Interment will be at National Memorial Park in Falls Church, VA.
