Mary Lou Crawford, 90, of Harrisonburg formally of Falls Church, VA, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Sunnyside Retirement Community.

Mary Lou was born June 11, 1926 in Cleveland, OH, and was the daughter of Frank and Leona Rakestraw. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Sonderegger in May of 2006.

On October 27, 1956, she married John Grier Crawford, Jr. who preceded her in death December 22, 2013. She lived in Falls Church for many years before retiring to Harrisonburg with her husband in 1987.

Her surviving family includes daughters and son-in-laws: Kathy and James Cheatham, Cheryl C. and Michael Hutcheson; six grandchildren: Natalie, Katie, Crawford, Jordan, Caitlyn, and Megan; great-grandchildren: Abigail, Andrew and Grace.

Other family members include her sister, Donna Scott. Also, preceding her in death are her sister, Patricia Cannon and her brother, David Mueller.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 30, 2017 at The Colonial Funeral Home in Leesburg, VA. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery.
