Mary Frances Smith passed away while residing at Heritage Hall in Leesburg, Virginia. Mary was a resident of Leesburg since 1973.

A daughter of the late John Downman and Ann Elizabeth (Britt) Smith, she was born on November 6, 1922 in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Before moving to Leesburg Mary worked in Greensboro for the Army Air Corps during World War II. At war's end she was transferred to the Military District of Washington where she was employed at the Pentagon until 1954. She then went on to work at the Central Intelligence Agency until her retirement from government service in 1972.

Mary is survived by her sisters, three nieces and a nephew.

Although Mary will be dearly missed, she will be remembered each time a loved one looks to the sky. At her request her ashes will be scattered to the four winds.
