Mr. Maynard C. Washburn, 91, went Home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday, December 17, 2015. He was the son of the late Robert C. Washburn and Annie (Cole) Washburn of Middleborough, MA. He was born on July 10, 1924 in Middleborough, MA. He was married to Dorothy L. Caswell on January 3, 1948.
Mr. Washburn graduated from Middleborough High School in Middleborough, MA. He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army in the European Theatre
Mr. Washburn worked for his Uncle Frank Cole making cranberry boxes while in high school. After serving in the U.S. Army, he went to work for Goodhue Lumber Company. His career then changed to include Cushion Pad Fabricators, Daley Foam Products and M.H. Stallman Company
Mr. Washburn leaves behind his beloved wife of 67 years, Dorothy L. (Caswell) Washburn of Leesburg, VA. He was preceded in death by his son, Rev. Karl S. Washburn of Freeport, ME. He is also survived by his daughter, Kathy L. Morrisey and husband Donald of Harrisonburg, VA; son, Kent D. Washburn of Leesburg, VA; son, Kevin P. Washburn and wife Debbie of Purcellville, VA; and daughter-in-law, Cherylee Washburn of Freeport, ME; step grandaughters, Ashley Cook and husband Kristopher.of Nathalie, VA; Tiffany Umbaugh of Purcellville, VA; Jennifer Azara and husband Eric of Buxton, ME and April and husband Chris Kwasniak of Woolwich, ME. In addition there are seven great grandchildren: Aurora, Sean, Justin, Jacob, Syerra, Christyanna and Braxtyn
Mr. Washburn was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Rev. Stanley A. & Olga (Guild) Washburn formerly of Holliston, MA. He is survived by his sister, Lois M. (Washburn) Aspinwall and husband Rev. Dr. Robert E. Aspinwall of Nashua, NH; and brother, Rev. Howard O. Washburn and wife, Amy of Augusta, ME as well as many neices and nephews and their families.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Leesburg Community Church, 835 Lee Avenue, SW, Leesburg, VA on
Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 1:00 pm . Visiting hours will be 7:00-9:00 pm on Friday, January 8, 2016 at the Colonial Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry Road, Leesburg, VA. Internment will be later in the year in Carver, MA
