Michael Raymond Meetre, 61, recently of Hamilton, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2017.  Mike was born on July 10, 1956, to the late Wilbur and Florence Meetre in Falls Church, Virginia.  Mike was a 1974 graduate of George C. Marshall High School.  After graduation, he purchased and operated one of the first mobile food trucks in the area, serving up mouth-watering double cheeseburger subs and steak and cheese sandwiches to hard-working construction crews on site.  After many years, he decided to change career paths and obtained his hacker's license and first taxi cab and began providing transportation to school kids and business professionals alike.

There probably was no greater Washington Senators and Nationals or Redskins fan than Mike.  Nothing gave him more pleasure than to watch these teams play ball.  He also enjoyed watching the Washington Capitals play hockey, and NASCAR racing.

Additionally, Mike loved music and taught himself to play drums and guitar, and would serenade everyone with his Elvis impersonation.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Florence Meetre, his wife, Jill Meetre, and his brother-in-law, Jerry Horrocks.  He is survived by his sisters, Patricia Kovach and her husband, Karl; Teresa McDonald and her husband, Michael; and Debbie Horrocks, as well as by his nephews, Joseph Kovach and his wife, Abigail; Ryan Kovach; Michael Horrocks and his wife, Leah; Shawn Hatfield; and his niece, Leeann Horrocks; and by his dog niece and dog nephew, Kona Pearl McDonald and Woodrow Wilson Horrocks.

Mike was greatly loved and will be forever remembered.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 8, 2017, at Colonial Funeral Home located at 201 Edwards Ferry Road NE, Leesburg, Virginia  20176.  The family will receive friends beginning at 1:30 p.m. until the time of service.
