Michelle Tateosian
Moscardini
d. Sep 2, 2026
Michelle Tateosian Moscardini, 73, passed away peacefully at her home in Leesburg, Virginia.
Born and raised in New Jersey, Michelle eventually made Northern Virginia her home, building a life defined by family, hard work, generosity, and an almost unstoppable desire to see what was around the next corner.
Michelle was an entrepreneur long before it was fashionable to call yourself one. She built an extraordinarily successful medical billing business from the basement of her Burke townhome and proceeded to outgrow nearly every office she moved into. Through hard work, determination, and an uncompromising commitment to the people she served, she built a reputation that preceded her. She was incredibly proud of what she created, but even more proud of the people whose lives she was able to touch along the way.
But more than any business accomplishment or adventure, Michelle loved her family.
She married James Moscardini on November 10, 2018. She was the loving mother of Jeffrey Stahl and Melissa Morgan—her “perfect kids,” as she never hesitated to remind them or anyone else. She loved Brenda and Alex as her daughter- and son-in-law and, more importantly, as family. Her family also included Jim’s daughters, Tana and Stefana. Michelle also shared a lifelong bond with her brother, Eric Tateosian. She was preceded in death by their parents, George and Denise Tateosian.
And then there were Madeline and Ava Morgan. Her two granddaughters were her world. To them she was Mimi—or, more often, Meemsers—and there was virtually nothing she wouldn’t do for them. Few things brought her greater happiness than being part of their lives. Of all the places Michelle traveled and all that she accomplished, being their Meemsers was among the roles she treasured most.
For someone who absolutely hated flying, Michelle somehow managed to see an astonishing amount of the world. She visited every continent and rarely met a cruise she didn’t like. Her adventures took her from the exotic islands of the South Pacific to the Mekong and Nile Rivers—and even through 60-foot seas in the Southern Ocean. Her solution to a lifelong hatred of flying was particularly Michelle: she married a pilot and bought an airplane.
She approached fishing with similar logic. Michelle loved going fishing with her son, Jeffrey, despite getting seasick nearly every single time. It never stopped her from going. It simply meant that upon returning home, there had better be a Mudslide waiting for her by the pool.
There was also an attempt at RVing with Madeline and Ava. Unlike cruising, Michelle quickly discovered that not every form of travel deserved a second chance.
Michelle loved her wine and was always ready for happy hour. She loved traveling, exploring, and experiencing something new. She loved her dog, Alexa. She was always going somewhere, planning something, or helping someone, and slowing down was simply never part of her personality.
Those who knew Michelle will remember her determination, generosity, adventurous spirit, and fierce love for her family. And somewhere around happy hour, preferably with a glass of her wine nearby, there will undoubtedly be a story about her worth telling.
In accordance with Michelle’s wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service.
