Mildred M. Gulick, 81, of Aldie, VA passed away Friday, Sept. 10th, 2010 in Fairfax. The youngest of 13 children, Mildred was born March 24th, 1929 in Loudoun County Hospital, Leesburg, VA to Mr. and Mrs. John H. Morris of Middleburg, VA. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 54 years John Allen Gulick. She is survived by her two sons Steve Allen Gulick, John Frank Gulick; grandchildren Brian Allen Gulick, Thomas Riticor Gulick and Olivia Rollins Gulick.
Mrs. Gulick graduated from Aldie High School in 1946 and from Marymount University in 1975 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education. Recognized as an "Exceptional Teacher" by her peers and the Loudoun County School Board, Mrs. Gulick taught numerous children in Loudoun County elementary schools for 27 years. She was a member of the Aldie Church of Our Redeemer and an active member in the Aldie Horticultural Society. In her early years, "Millie" was active in the Aldie community; volunteering at the Aldie Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, teaching Sunday school and later on at the Aldie Mill. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed cooking for friends and family at home on Mount Beulah Farm, Aldie, VA.
The family will receive friends Monday, September 13, 2010 from 6-8pm at Colonial Funeral Home in Leesburg, Virginia. Where services will be held on Tuesday, September 14th, 2010 at 11:00 am. She will be buried at The Union Cemetery, Leesburg, VA. Memorial contributions may be made to the Aldie Volunteer Fire Department, P.O Box 366, Aldie, VA 20105.
