Monica Shirley Lee, 93, of Lovettsville, VA, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2024.

Monica was born on September 11, 1931, in Washington, DC. She married Thomas V. Lee on August 20, 1955. Together, they built their lives in Madison, TN, then in Lanham, MD, before ultimately settling in Lovettsville, VA, where she and Tom built their dream home.

She was predeceased by her parents, Willett and Monica (Dove) Hegarty; her brother, Michael Hegarty; her son, Mark Lee; and her daughter, Margaret Bayless. She is survived by her husband, Thomas; their son, Patrick Lee; her siblings, Maridella Hegarty and Patrick Hegarty; and many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on November 7, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home in Leesburg, VA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 8, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Leesburg, VA. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Cemetery in Thurmont, MD.
