Monica Rosales O'Donnell, 51, of Asburn, Virginia, passed away on February 11, 2024, after a courageous fight with stage 4 cancer. She was born on October 1, 1972, in Guatemala, and moved to the U.S. as a child. She attended school in Burke, VA, and graduated from Marymount University.

Monica was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and cousin. She married Ed O'Donnell in 2004 at Saint Raphael's Catholic Church, and they had two sons, Matthew and Liam, who were her pride and joy. She is survived by her husband Ed; her sons Matthew and Liam; her mother Judy; her sister Claudia; her in-laws Ed Sr. and Duck Hee; her sisters-in-law Helen and Nancy; her brother-in-law Rob; her nieces Marie and Emma; her nephews Vincent and Josh; her aunts Angelica, Aura, and Nora; her uncles Hector and Jose; her cousins Sonia, Aracely, Myra; and many other beloved relatives in the U.S. and Guatemala.

Monica had a passion for Hello Kitty, kitschy knick knacks, and the beach. She was always cheerful, kind, and supportive of her family and friends. She valued her friendships, especially those with her co-workers, who became like a second family to her. She was a bridge or hub of co-workers where they all got along with her. Ed became friends with a few of her co-workers over the years.

Monica will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She will be remembered for her undying love and support of her two boys, her bright smile, and her generous heart.

The O'Donnells are grateful for the outpouring of love, condolences, and support from those that were touched by Monica. They are truly appreciative of the support from Father John, Father Barnes, and thoughtful staff from St. Theresa's Catholic Church and the parish.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, February 24,2024 from 2-4p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home in Leesburg, VA.

A small reception to follow at the O'Donnell's residence at 43044 La Riva Drive, Ashburn, VA 20148. Family, friends and co-workers are welcome to drop by.
