Nadir Bardhi Obituary
Nadir Bardhi, age 70, passed away peacefully among family in Leesburg, VA on May 11, 2023 on a beautiful spring day.
Nadir was born in Elbasan, Albania on January 20, 1953, the son of a war hero and grandson of a prominent merchant. He was a devoted brother and son and took care of his disabled father and sick mother from a very young age. He was very passionate about democracy and justice, serving in the Albanian army for many years and respected for his bravery and loyalty to his country.
At age 47, Nadir pursued his dream of moving to America. Together with his wife Alma and daughters Lidia and Melisa, they moved to New York City to build a brighter future for their family and quickly grew to love their new country, the United States of America. Nadir worked as an industrial mechanic for many years and enjoyed working with his hands and building things. After retirement, Nadir and Alma moved to Virginia to be closer to their daughters and two grandchildren.
Nadir was known for his interdisciplinary talents. At a young age, he taught himself English, Italian, and French and befriended many friends across Europe. He taught himself to play guitar, often serenading his friends and family with the magical sound of his music. He collected rare books and built impressive scientific knowledge often citing fascinating astronomical facts to everyone that would listen. In his later years, he cultivated a beautiful garden that blooms with flowers, fruits, vegetables and is home to several birds' nests. His family closely cherishes the garden he left behind.
Nadir is survived by his wife Alma, daughters Lidia and Melisa, grandchildren Niovi and Drighton, and numerous nieces and nephews. Nadir's family thank him dearly for instilling in them an incredible work ethic, strength, bravery, and great love of travel and adventure. His grandchildren, who call him "dydi" will miss him dearly and will forever hold him in their hearts.
To dad, we say: Babi ime, te kam shpirt, jemi bashke pergjithmone.
