Nicholas Demetri Kavoukas, 25, of Sterling, Virginia, unexpectedly passed away on April 12, 2023.
Nicholas was born on February 21, 1998, to Jennifer Lee Kavoukas and Demetri Kavoukas Sr., in Fairfax, Virginia.
Nicholas is survived by his parents, Jennifer and Demetri Kavoukas, his brother Demetri Jr., on his father's side, Grandfather, Triantafillos, Grandmother, Angeliki, Godmother, Lina Lemons, Great Aunt Brit, Aunt Joanna, Uncle Yiannis, cousins, Nikos, Aggelos and Elli. On his mother's side, Aunt Marti and Uncle Joey, Aunt Alex and Uncle Jason, Aunt Christina, Uncle Bobby and Aunt Jeanette, Uncle Delmas, and cousins Alyssa, Carlye and Kevin, and Great Aunt Kay.
Nicholas was beloved by everyone. He had the best heart and was so charismatic. He brought joy and laughter to everyone he met. He loved his family and friends above and beyond all else. Nicholas did not mean to leave us, he loved being here. Everyone who knows him knows how he was always getting into one scrape or another. He usually managed to get back out of them only just not this time. He had been living life to the fullest the last few months of his life. He was doing so well, he had started college and was getting good grades, he was working very hard on maintaining his sobriety. He had found a wonderful girlfriend who loved and supported him and whom he was head over heels about. He finally got the car that he always dreamed of having. He enjoyed the last weeks of his life so much and was so happy. He recently took a trip to the zoo which he found fascinating and, after finally getting a car, he spent time visiting long time friends. We all know what a "foodie" he was, and he'd been enjoying a lot of new restaurants and foods. You'll see many pictures included on this site that was him out and about enjoying food. Everyone loved Nicholas, he spread joy and love everywhere he went.
Nicholas always helped his mother and brother so much and loved his family and did everything for them. He would take care of his brother and go above and beyond for him, and he was so patient and knew just how to help him and talk to him down from the ledge so to speak and was the best brother. He loved his brother more than Demetri will ever know.
Nicholas had gone on several fishing trips with his Dad and that was something they could always share together no matter how much they argued, which was only natural as they were so much alike. We all called him Dad's mini-me. He will always be remembered as Dad's little fishing buddy.
I know I speak for everyone when we say he will always be remembered, and he'll live in our hearts forever. We will never get over his loss as long as we live. Nicholas's kindness and thoughtfulness was unsurpassed.
He will live forever in all of our memories. Rest in peace, our sweet lovely gorgeous boy.
