A beautiful person. That is how one would describe Nora G. Benitez. Nora made her home with her devoted husband, Mario, in Leesburg, Virginia.

Born in 1967 in Guatemala, she was the proud daughter of biological parents Francisco Hernandez Elias and Edelmira Gertrudis. She was blessed to have adoptive parents Larry and Lydia; with whom she enjoyed many trips while exploring nature.

Nora was the loving mother of Maria Jose and loving stepmom to Enrique, Carson and Mariam.

A compassionate person, she loving cared for the needs of residents at INOVA Loudoun Nursing and Rehab. The residents grew to quickly love her as well. She enjoyed working with the coworkers who were closest to her.

Nora will be dearly missed.

Her memories will be cherished by her loving husband, Mario Samayoa; daughter Maria Jose; stepchildren Enrique, Carson and Mariam; father Francisco Hernandez; adoptive parents Larry and Lydia; brother Alvaro; and her most loyal friend Rosita Granados. Her mother Edelmira preceded her in death.

A gathering for family and friends is scheduled between 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm on Saturday, January 10, 2014 at Colonial Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry Rd NE, Leesburg, Virginia. Nora will be flown back to Guatemala where she will be laid to rest.
