Obituary

Norman Earl Derryberry, Ret. CMSgt, U.S. Air Force, 80, passed away Dec. 18, 2015. He was preceded in death by father, Thelbert Wade (Helen) "Daddy Wade" and "Mama Helen" Derryberry and mother, Jewel Derryberry "Gram."

Survived by wife of 55 years, Josephine "Jo" Derryberry; children, Robert "Bob" Derryberry, Cynthia "Cindi" (Mike) Wheeler, Norma Jean "Jeannie" Derryberry, Teresa "Terri" (John) Karol, and Donna (Daniel) Clark; grandchildren, Andy, Christina, Jessica, AJ, Jimmy, Johnny, Tyler, Tanner, and Emily; great-grandson, Blake; brother, Thelbert Gwyn (Frances) Derryberry; nephews, Bert and David Derryberry; and other family and friends.

In Norman's eyes, family always came first and he was the glue that bonded the family together. He enjoyed every aspect of planning for family adventures and planning the golf outings for his buddies. Norman served in the military for 26 years and loved his country. He was the true definition of a patriot to both his family and country. The void that he leaves behind will never be filled. Norman will be forever loved and dearly missed.

Locally, the family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 from 9:30 am until time of service at 10:30 am, at the Colonial Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry Rd., NE, Leesburg, VA 20176. Graveside services with military honors will begin at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Quantico National Cemetery, Joplin Road, Quantico, VA.
