Obituary

On September 15, 2020, the Lord called home his humble and faithful servant, Oma Virginia Ball Feheley Grigsby. Born March 18, 1926 in Montgomery County, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Frederick Ball and Lillian Moran Ball.

Raised in a little house in Ashburn, Virginia, she attended and graduated from Ashburn School. She lived in several states after marrying her first husband, a Marine, but the little house in Ashburn was always home and remained so until her dying day.

Oma will forever be remembered by her family and friends as a kind, gentle, soft spoken soul with an unwavering faith in the Lord. She was of Baptist faith and that faith sustained her through the hardships she faced in this life. She'd quickly tell you her position if you questioned that faith, no holds barred; this lady was feisty with a backbone of steel and she owed it all to her God.

Oma loved to sing, whether it was in the church choir or with her beloved Potomac Harmony Sweet Adelines Chorus, she joined the Fairfax chapter of the Sweet Adelines on July 1, 1973 and became a charter member of the Potomac Harmony chapter when they merged with Arlington in November, 1976. She was an active member for over 40 years and was always on the go with rehearsals, a show, a competition or raising funds for the chorus through pecan and white house ornament sales.

Oma was extremely independent, often seen zipping around in her little car running errands and visiting with her friends and family, she fiercely loved her grandchildren and a visit with them would have her talking about it for hours after the visit had ended. An avid sports fan, Oma loved her Washington Redskins and was thrilled when the Nationals became the World Champions.

Oma is survived by her daughter Raoma (Ray) Gray and husband Robert of Lucketts; grandchildren Patricia Grove and Allen Feheley-Gray; great grandchildren Micole Spencer and husband Chance and Michael Conrad; great great grandson Esten Spencer; step-daughter Judy Gregory and step-granddaughters Lauren and Dana.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, her first husband, Raymond Feheley; her son, James Michael Feheley; her second husband, Fred Grigsby; her brothers, Whetzel Ball and Fred (Junior) Ball; her sister, Eleanor Smith and step-daughters Patricia Dodge and Cindy Greene.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 from 6 to 8 pm at Colonial
Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry Road NE, Leesburg, VA 20176. A Graveside service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, St. Jude Children's Hospital or Potomac Harmony Chorus.

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations. Psalm 100:1-5
