Page McDonald Barrett, 82, of Leesburg, Virginia passed away Sunday February 2, 2025 at her home. Page was born on April 30, 1942 in Purcellville, Virginia, the daughter of Elmer Milton (Coty) McDonald and Bernice Marie Merchant McDonald. She is predeceased by her parents, her son, Mark Robert Barrett, and her daughter-in-law, Christine O'Toole Barrett. Page is survived by her husband of 61 years, James Robert (Bob) Barrett her sons, James Lee (Jim) and (Mary King) Barrett of Huntsville, Alabama, Brett McDonald Barrett of Sterling, Virginia and twin grandsons, Robert Stephen Barrett and Ryan Mark Barrett both of Arlington, Virginia. Also, Page is survived by her brothers Elmer Milton (Florence) McDonald of Spring Hope, North Carolina and Thomas Merchant (Milee) McDonald of Middletown, Maryland. Page leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Page, a Loudoun County native, attended Purcellville Elementary School and graduated from Loudoun County High School, Leesburg VA and Virginia Intermont College, Bristol VA. Growing up in the small rural town of Purcellville she enjoyed its unique opportunities at the Loudoun Golf and Country Club and the Purcellville Skating Rink participating in swimming, golf, tennis, sledding, roller skating and dancing, while also working part time at the Club. In high school, she was on the varsity softball (3 years) and varsity basketball (4 years) teams, lettering in both. In college, Page was a member and team leader on her college's H2O Synchronize Swim Team. As a young adult she returned to enjoying golf and especially grew found of tennis. As an adult tennis player, Page won multiple championships in singles, women's doubles, mixed doubles and parent-child tournaments. Page was a team member of the Northern Virginia Women's Tennis League winning their division and the championship title at the USTA 2011 National Senior 3.0 Women Championships.
Page's career began in McLean Virginia as a medical secretary. Page later worked at the Loudoun Racquet and Swim Club in Leesburg for many years. Page transitioned her career into real estate after earning her realtor license. Page began with Town & Country Realtor and later with Long and Foster Realtor, both in Leesburg. Page was one of Loudoun County's longstanding realtors, having assisted countless families buying and selling their homes for almost 40 years. Page was honored to receive the 2001 Dulles Area Association of Realtor's Janice Sebrell Appreciation Award. The award recognized her "consistently pleasant and professional behavior, outstanding working relationship with other agents and her thoughtfulness, ethical conduct, knowledge and customer satisfaction." Page was a member of St. James' Episcopal Church and United Daughters of the Confederacy.
Page was a loving caregiver, providing compassionate care demonstrating kindness and patience to family. Her dedication, love and timeless care to others will always be remembered.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on February 17, 2025 at Colonial Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry Road, NE Leesburg, Virginia.
A Memorial and Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday February 18, at 2:00 PM at St. James Episcopal Church at 14 Cornwall Street NW, Leesburg, Virginia. Interment will be schedule at a later time to be held at Hillsboro Cemetery, Charles Town Pike (Route 9), Hillsboro, Virginia.
Following the service, everyone is invited to a reception at Loudoun Golf & Country Club, 36967 W Main Street, Purcellville, Virginia.
