Patricia ("Patti") C. Best passed away suddenly but peacefully on December 25, 2018 at INOVA Loudoun Hospital; she was 72 years young. Patti was a resident of Winchester, VA and was the owner of Scarves of Happiness. She knitted each scarf with care for her clients and included a personalized inspirational message on every piece. Patti was an avid reader and animal lover, taught visual journaling classes at Edge Hill Recovery Center and worked as a receptionist at NV Hair Concepts & Design Studio in Winchester. Her greatest joy and the legacy in which she will be remembered most by was being a mother, mentor and friend to so many in her local community. She is survived by her 3 children: Matthew Rumble of Eureka, MT, Lydia Best of Leesburg, VA and Marshall Best and his wife, Nicole Worsham, and their 2 daughters: Ryann and Rubie of Centennial, CO. Patti is also survived by her beloved pets Bob, Eli and George.
Patti was a tissue donor prior to selflessly donating her body to Western Carolina University's (WCU) Forensic Osteology Research Station. Even in death, she wanted to give back and help as many people as possible. Per her wishes, no funeral services will be held but donations may be made in her memory to the Patti Best Scholarship Fund at Edge Hill Recovery Center (www.edgehillrecovery.org) or Speranza Animal Rescue (speranzarescue.org).
