Patricia "Darlene" Carey went to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 22, 2022 surrounded by her family.  Darlene was born on December 15, 1938, at her grandparents' house in Tippecanoe, Ohio.  She was born to Velma Irene Dickey Meade and Morgan Guy Meade, the first of seven siblings.  She was greeted in heaven by her mother Velma, father Morgan, brother Dennis Meade, sister Mary Jean Meade Embry, and sisters-in-law Marion Carey Malin and Dolly Cox Meade.

Darlene was married over 65 years to her loving husband Charles "Ross" Carey.  They have three children, Charles "Mark" Carey (wife, Rose), Michael Neil Carey (wife Deborah), Lisa Michelle Carey Schaff (husband Chris).  They have 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Surviving siblings include Larry, David (wife, Rose Ann), Timothy (wife, Elizabeth) Meade, sister Marsha Ann Meade Thompson (husband, Jim), brother-in-law Woody Embry.  Also, she is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Darlene taught at the Montessori School of Cedar Lane for 26 years and at Cornerstone Chapel's Heaven Sent Preschool for 13 years.  Darlene loved our Lord, her family, children, learning, teaching, gardening, and helping others.  She touched many lives by living her life faithfully:

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness,

Service will be held at Cornerstone Chapel, 650 Battlefield Parkway, S.E., Leesburg, VA  20175 on Monday, March 28, 2022 at 2:00 pm.  Interment to follow at Ebenezer Cemetery, 20421 Airmont Rd., Bluemont, VA. 20135
