Patricia Gales Lowder

Pat peacefully passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2019. She was the beloved wife of J. Gordon Lowder, Sr. and mother of John G. Lowder, Jr. (Donna Lowder), Stephanie L. Barker (Larry Barker) and Stuart H. Lowder (Belinda Lowder). Also surviving are seven grandchildren Paul Verzi, Amy McGregor, Christy Roberts, Katie Hesselton, Jay Lowder, Emily Lowder, Taylor Lowder and many great-grandchildren.

She was born and raised in Washington, DC. Being a loving wife and mother was the most important thing to her. She spent her life with her late husband of 57 years living in Maryland where they raised their three children. Pat and Gordon worked side by side at their optical business for 20 years before retiring in 1994. She enjoyed cooking and sewing and spending time with her husband and family at their cabin in West Virginia.

Pat had a strong faith in Jesus Christ her Savior.  She will be greatly missed.

The family would like to thank the staff of Morningside House of Leesburg and Capital Caring Hospice for the excellent care they provided. It was a great comfort to the family.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, February 7, 2019 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Colonial Funeral Home of Leesburg, 201 Edwards Ferry Rd., Leesburg, VA  20176 where a service will begin at 11:00 am.  Interment to follow at Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville, MD.
