Our loving mother Patricia A. Rushton, age 86, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2015 from a sudden illness. Pat, as she was known by all her friends and family, was a loving wife and mother, of strong faith and a devout Catholic. Pat was preceded in death by her first husband Norris (Skip) Sterling, Jr., sons Mark Sterling, Jeffrey Sterling, granddaughter Lindsey Sterling; her sister Nancy Beam, and her second husband Russell Rushton. She is survived by her companion of many years, Jerry Alchus, sister Sue Smith of Lewis, Delaware; daughters, Catherine (Donald)Brown, Barbara (Randy)Jobin, and Patricia(John) Erbse; daughter-in-law, Paula Sterling; step children Brett (Rosalia) Rushton, Russell (Sharon) Rushton, and Thomas Rushton; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Pat was born in Baltimore, Maryland on August 17, 1929. She graduated from Seton High School and went on to attend St. Agnes School of Nursing, earning her RN degree and working in Geriatrics Nursing. Pat's love was her family; her 5 children and their families, her 6 grandchildren, Natalie Sterling, Sterling Jobin, Jennifer Jobin, Joshua Jobin, and Adam Erbse; and 8 great-grandchildren.

Pat's many hobbies included reading, playing bridge and her daily devotion to the rosary. She loved the many trips and cruises and the annual vacations enjoyed with her family. She was a gracious, loving, and compassionate mother, wife, sister, and daughter. She is loved ever so, and greatly missed.

Family will receive friends between 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm on Friday, October 30, 2015 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 21371 St Theresa Lane, Ashburn, VA 20147 where a service will immediately follow starting at 3:00 pm. Interment to be held in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
