Ashburn, VA - Patricia (Pat) Turner passed away peacefully on March 28th in her apartment at Ashby Ponds. She was 103 years old.

Pat was born in Bethlehem, PA, in 1921 to parents George and Lillian Fenton. She was the oldest of four siblings.

She attended Moravian Seminary in Bethlehem and later the Kendall Hall Girls School in Peterborough, NH, and Miss Sacker's Art School in Bston, MA. During WW II, she contributed to the war effort by working for a defense contractor and doing volunteer work.

After the war, she met and married Army Air Corps Captain Bruce W. Turner, who had returned from Germany after being held in a POW camp there.

Pat had two children, Whit and Sarah Turner. The family lived in Virginia, Maryland, and New Jersey for many years. Pat and Bruce retired to Cape Cod, a place where they had loved to vacation.

Pat, along with Bruce, was an avid tennis and paddle-ball player, active at clubs in Chatham, NJ, Amelia Island, FL, and Yarmouth, MA. Pat played well into her late 80s until a fall and a resulting broken wrist ended her hopes of a professional career in the sport. "But I made the shot" she proudly proclaimed at the time.

She also loved gardening, antiquing, and golf. While living in NJ, she started a cottage business making and selling designer belts to boutiques.

She is survived by her children, two grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on April 12th, at the Colonial Funeral Home of Leesburg, 201 Edwards Ferry Rd NE, Leesburg, VA 20176.

The family plans to have her buried alongside her husband at Arlington National Cemetery in the Summer.
