Obituary

Paul John Hartman, 86, of Potomac Falls, VA and formerly of Arlington, VA passed away on March 25, 2011 at the Spring Arbor Assisted Living Residence in Leesburg. Born on July 4, 1924 in Saville Township, PA, he was the son of Cloyd Charles Hartman and Ada Ruth Irvine Hartman. His wife of 62 years, Audrey Clark Hartman, died in December of 2009.
During WWII, Mr. Hartman served 3 ½ years in the US Army as a member of the 2nd Armored Division in the European Theater of Operations in France, Belgium, and Germany. He was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge for which he was awarded a Purple Heart.
Upon his return to the states in 1946, he earned his Bachelor's degree in Education from Shippensburg State Teacher's College in PA and his Master's degree from the George Washington University. For the first nine years of his career, he was a teacher at Warren County High School in Front Royal, VA. He spent the next 31 years as the Supervisor of Distributive Education for the Arlington County school system.
Surviving are his two sons, Jeffrey Clark Hartman (Susan) of Charlotte, NC and Craig Alan Hartman (Amy) of Ashburn, VA and six grandchildren.

Arrangements are in the care of Colonial Funeral Home of Leesburg. The service will be held at the Fort Myers Chapel at Arlington National Cemetery on Wednesday, July 6th at 3:00.
