Peter David Hollenbeck, 69, retired IBM engineer, died of prostate cancer on November 10, 2011 at his home in Haymarket, Virginia. His distinguished career with IBM was highlighted by his work on NASA's Saturn/Apollo man-on-the-moon program. He was an avid whitewater canoeist, fisherman, hiker, skier, and cyclist. He particularly enjoyed cycling in the peaceful, rolling hills and scenic villages in the Cotswolds in England. Survivors include his beloved partner of 18 years, Gayle Rose Cross, his mother and father, Helen Judith and David Durie Hollenbeck of Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey, a sister, Karen Diane Foose, of Montague, New Jersey, three maternal aunts, a nephew and two nieces. The family will receive friends at Leesburg Presbyterian Church, 207 West Market Street, Leesburg, Virginia from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 15, 2011, followed immediately by the funeral service. Interment: Ebenezer Cemetery, 20421 Airmont Road, Bluemont, Virginia.
