Pola Marsyl Sheppard departed this life peacefully at Heritage Hall in Leesburg Va on August 12, with her children surrounding her. She was born on October 28,1945 in Winchester Va to the late Ray Milton Turner Sr & Edith Gordon, she was raised by her grandparents the late James & Cora Gordon, she attended William C Taylor High school in Warrenton Va.

She was employed by the National Conference Center, The County of Loudoun, and Heritage Hall.

Pola was a loving mother and grandmother.

She leaves to cherish her memory her six children Aretha Veney (Darryl)of Winchester Va, Jerry Carter of Leesburg Va, James Carter of Martinsburg Wv, Martina Bullock (Tracy)of Leesburg Va, Michelle Sheppard of Leesburg Va and Calvin Sheppard Jr of Ashburn Va, A sister June Gray of Boyce Va, and a brother Geary Day Sr of Manassas Va, 7 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brother James Turner.

Family and friends are invited to share the memories between 10:00 am and 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Colonial Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry Road NE, Leesburg, Virginia 20176 where services will immediately follow starting at 11:00 a.m. Chaplain Cary Johnson will be officiating.
