Randall Eugene Baugh
September 30, 1944- October 1, 2023
Leesburg, VA~ Randall Eugene Baugh, 79, left us for his heavenly home the morning of Sunday October 1, 2023. Randall ("Randy") was a loving husband, son, father, and "Papa". Randy's kind heart, charming personality, and sense of humor resulted in his having many friends and loved ones.
Randy was born in Olney, IL, September 30, 1944. His family moved around a lot because his dad was a military doctor. Randy enjoyed playing football, basketball and running track and field while he was in high school. Randy also had a passion for vintage cars, his favorite was his 1967 Corvette. Randy attended Northwood High School in Maryland after his father was transferred to Walter Reed. At age 18, Randy was set up on a blind date with a girl named Marlene Greenan, whom he married 3 years later. Randy attended the University of Maryland and served in the US Army Reserves.
Randy's jovial, charismatic, and warm personality (he never met a stranger!) led him to a career in sales. He worked for various companies (IBM, Xerox, to mention a few) over the years and eventually retired in 1999, to help Marlene with her real estate team. Randy and Marlene made Leesburg, Virginia their final home. Randy loved traveling with Marlene. He also enjoyed playing golf, poker nights with his buddies, watching Redskins football, building things with his hands, collecting trains, and spending time with his family and friends.
He enjoyed telling stories about his youth, his family, his golf game and many wonderful times throughout his life. Randy was a true family man; his family meant the world to him.
Randy, known affectionately by his five grandchildren as "Papa" and "Papa Choo Choo" because of his love and passion for trains, was absolutely crazy about his grandchildren. His eyes sparkled with delight every time he spoke of or saw them. He cherished each of them and thoroughly enjoyed watching them laugh and giggle
Randy was predeceased by his father, Dr. Joseph Baugh, his mother Dorothy Baugh, and his younger sister Judy Andolino. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Marlene G. Baugh, his son Edward ("Ted") Baugh (Stephanie), daughter Heather D. Magill, and his grandchildren, Reece Taylor (14), Ella Marie (13), Wyatt Edward (12), Sammy Edward (10) and Tyler Randall (4), sister Karen Owen, sister Mary Freske and (Mike), brother Hugh Baugh (Teri), brother Joseph Baugh (Jeremy), and sister Virginia Baugh, sister in law Patricia Sellers, his nieces Kathryn Prime, Scotti Sellers, Charlotte Freske, Alice Freske, Dana Freske, Amy Volturo and nephews Tony Rueck, Ben Rueck, Peter Rueck, Everette Freske, Adam Freske, Samuel Baugh, Matthew Baugh, Josh Volturo, and grand-niece Sophie Hudziak and grand-nephew Lochlan Prime. Randy will be missed by all.
In lieu of flowers, Marlene asks that you make a memorial donation to your charity of choice. Thank you, and God Bless.
