Becky Hannon
(November 21, 1987 - February 14, 2016)
Rebecca Anne Hannon, age 28 – Is the loving daughter of her father Terry Grist (Lynn James) and her mother and step-father Anne and Sean Egan. She is also survived by her devoted husband of three and one-half years, John Hannon and her brother Ryan Grist, all of Herndon, Virginia. In addition, Becky is loved and cherished by many family members, her grandparents Georgina and Chester Slevinski of Leesburg, Virginia, her mother in-law and step father in-law Kathy and Chuck Cope of Moneta, Virginia, her father in-law Jim Hannon, and her sister-in-law Sarah Hannon both of Dallas Texas, her godparents Lorree and Don Melonio of New Castle, Pennsylvania, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Becky was born in Washington, D.C. and lived in Herndon, Virginia her entire life attending Dranesville Elementary School, Herndon Middle School, and Herndon High School. She received her Bachelors Degrees in Psychology and Anthropology from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia and received her Masters Degree in Anthropology from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. Becky worked in commercial property management, most recently with Eden's at the Mosaic District in Fairfax, Virginia.
Becky was an avid athlete playing soccer from elementary school through high school where she was on the Herndon High School varsity soccer team and the cross-country team and several WAGS travel teams. During college she became a distance runner and participated in several national half-marathons.
Becky loved to travel enjoying trips to Thailand, Italy, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, the Caribbean and the Grenadines. She had a passion for the beach, especially enjoying time in Nags Head, North Carolina.
Becky had an enthusiastic zest for life and loved spending time with her family, many friends, her dogs Layla and Roxy, and her cat Abigail.
A memorial service and celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., Cornerstone Chapel, 742 Miller Drive SE, Leesburg, VA 20175 followed by a luncheon/reception at 1:00 p.m., Waterford at Fair Oaks, 12025 Lee Jackson Memorial Hwy, Fairfax VA 22033.
