Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend Becky J. Thorpe was peacefully called home by The Lord on January 11, 2016 with her family by her side.
Becky was born in Fayetteville, WV on October 18,1946 to Paul and Maude Rudolph. She graduated from Lewisburg High School and Beckley Jr. College.
Becky served our nation as a secretary for the Central Intelligence Agency and retired in 2006 after 29 years of service. Becky and her family enjoyed traveling and lived in Frankfurt, Germany and Cairo, Egypt while also visiting dozens of other countries around the world. She was an avid knitter, reader, and a master of crosswords and trivia. She was a member of a bowling league for many years and had a profound love for penguins, cardinals, and dogs. Her greatest passion was spending time with her family and friends.
Becky is survived by her daughters Melissa L. Derby and husband Robert W. Derby, Heather L. Campbell and husband Patrick J. Campbell, six grandchildren Brandon P. Bennie, Kyle T. Gamble, Zachary B. Gamble, Connor J. Campbell, Dawson T. Derby, and Brielle L. Campbell, sister Karen L. Brown and husband Richard F. Brown, and former spouse Rodney L. Thorpe and wife Deborah L. Thorpe.
A celebration of life gathering will be held at the Colonial Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry Road, NE, Leesburg, VA 20176 at 1 p.m. and followed by a service at 2 p.m. on February 6, 2016.
