Obituary

Reberta Stack entered into the Kingdom of the Lord on June 9, 2014. Her beloved husband of nearly 38 years, Jerry Stack, was at her bedside holding her hand when she took her last breath.

Reberta was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Rose Albrecht. She is survived by her husband, Jerome Stack, her two children and their spouses, Faith (and John) Fuentes, Jere (and Genevieve) Stack, and her granddaughter Evelyn Stack, as well as her siblings Lisa Johnson, Tina Abba, Marian Johnson, and Steve Albrecht.

Reberta was born to Walter and Rose Albrecht in Salt Lake City, Utah on January 25, 1955. Her family moved to Alaska a year later and ultimately settled in Lodi, California in 1957. The oldest of five children, Reberta attended school in Lodi and graduated from Tokay High School in 1973 as salutatorian of her class. While she was growing up, Reberta was actively involved in the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, serving as Worthy Advisor and honored as California Representative to Nevada in 1974.

In 1975, Reberta enlisted in the United States Navy as a hospital corpsman and worked in the labor and delivery unit at the Naval Medical Clinic in Quantico, Virginia. The following year, she met and married the love of her life and fellow Navy hospital corpsman, Jerry Stack. Over the next few years, Jerry and Reberta had two children, Faith and Jere.

In her lifetime, Reberta exuded a multitude of accomplishments and talents. A licensed cosmetologist, she owned and operated her own hair salon in her house while she raised her children. She also enjoyed her role as a dance and fitness instructor and ran several miles every day. At Concordia Lutheran Church in Triangle, Virginia, where Reberta and her family were congregation members, she served as a Stephen Minister, providing spiritual guidance to people in need of grief support. Later in her life, Reberta earned her license as a real estate agent and spent a number of years with her husband in the real estate business. Perhaps one of the highlights of Reberta's distinguished achievements was her career as a flight attendant with United Airlines, where she effervesced her genuine desire to care for and help others.

Most of all, however, Reberta's greatest legacy can be found in the love she had for her family and friends. Her career with United Airlines had a very special meaning as it enabled her, Jerry, and their family to spend time with family and friends all across the United States and overseas. Reberta adored her husband and children, and in her final days, had been blessed with the privilege of meeting her first and only grandchild.

Reberta Stack was a beautiful, pure, strong, and vivacious creature of the Lord, and her spirit will continue to touch everyone who has been blessed to know her.
