Obituary

Reginald Eugene Randolph 'Duke' departed this life at Blue Ridge Hospice In-Patient Center in Winchester, VA on June 15, 2016. Duke was born on December 2, 1936 to the late Jessie Crystal Randolph and Estelle Cooper Randolph of Leesburg, VA.

Duke was married to Laura E. (Whiting) Randolph of Leesburg, VA on August 26, 1961 and cherished nearly 55 years of marriage. From this union three children were born, he was a loving and caring father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Duke loved his family and they loved and honored him passionately, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren called him 'Grandfather' he epitomized and full-filled this role.

Duke was educated in the Loudoun County Public School system and as a member of the Douglass High School class of 1957. He was able to pair his love of trucks with a career and became a professional truck driver, he retired from Trowbridge Steele after many years of dedicated service. After retiring, he volunteered to shuttle friends or family who needed to run errands or to doctor appointments. He loved watching old Westerns, and was an avid NASCAR fan.

Duke accepted Christ and was a baptized member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Leesburg, VA. He as an active member prior to his sickness and served as a Trustee under the leadership of Reverend Melbourne Bailey.

Duke leaves to treasure his memory his loving wife Laura; children Regina L. Coates (Floyd) of Winchester VA, Kelly E. Randolph of Ashburn VA and Carolyn A. Crisp (David) of Leesburg VA. Ten grandchildren, Ryan Randolph, Christopher Randolph, Jocelyn Coates, Shannon Coates, Cambria Crisp, Joshua Randolph, Sarah Coates, Alicia Crisp, Julien Randolph, David Crisp, III, and fifteen great-grandchildren. One sister Phyllis Randolph of Inwood WVA; two brothers Herbert Randolph (Mary) of Leesburg VA and Michael Randolph (Laura) of Mableton GA. One brother-in-law Thomas Whiting (Barbara) of Leesburg, VA. Seven sisters-in-law Bernice Murray, Cora Gaiter (Curtis) of Fort Washington MD, Ruth French (Gerald) of Virginia Beach VA, Martha Pearson of Sterling VA, Mildred Timbers (Charles) of Leesburg VA, Anna Randolph of Berryville VA, Doris Whiting of Leesburg VA, Beverly Whiting of Los Angeles CA, Sarah Whiting of Winchester VA, Rosetta Whiting of Germantown MD.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother and brother Richard W. Randolph. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, many cousins, dear friends and neighbors.

Family and friends will gather between 11:00 am and 12:00 pm on June 21, 2016 at the First Mount Olive Baptist Church, 216 Loudoun St SW, Leesburg, VA 20175 where funeral services will immediately follow starting at 12:00 pm.
