Renace Herbert Painter passed away peacefully under Hospice care on April 24, 2021, at INOVA Lansdowne Hospital. He was lovingly surrounded by his daughter, Terri, and son-in-law, Jep.
Renace was born on April 15, 1928, in Lovettsville, VA, the youngest of 9 children of Charles and Rosa Painter. He graduated from Lovettsville High School, and called Lovettsville his home for his entire 93 years. He proudly worked for the Federal Government, and proudly served his country as a Sargent in the United States Army. He was active in the Reserves, a member of the American Legion, and a Brother Mason in the Masonic Lodge. He was a school bus driver in his teens, and also a hard worker at the Shell Station in Brunswick in his early years.
He married Louise "Susie" Painter in 1955, and they were together for 60 years. Their daughter, Terri, was born in 1958, and they welcomed their son-in-law, Jep, into their lives in 1985.
Renace was a friend to many, a wonderful father, father-in-law, handyman for literally everything, mower-man, local historian, story teller………..the list goes on and on. He loved his granddogs, and they loved him! He loved his country music and his TV Westerns. And he loved working on his property.
He is survived by his daughter Terri Greer, son-in-law Jep Greer, brother-in-law Jack Saunders, and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a Private, graveside service with military honors at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to Capital Caring Hospice 24419 Millstream Dr., Aldie, VA 20105.
