Richard, "Rick" Benson passed away unexpectedly on Thursday May 11 ^th . Rick was born on August 5 ^th , 1968 in Endicott, NY where he was raised by his parents, Ellen and John Benson along with his brother, Charles, "Chuck" Benson. Rick graduated from Union Endicott High School and proudly served in the United States Navy as a Petty Officer Second Class. Rick continued to serve in the Navy through the Naval Reserves as a Signalman First Class out of Fort McHenry in Baltimore and was attached to the Beachmasters unit 2 in Little Creek, VA. Rick traveled around the world and met many wonderful, life-long friends through his Navy days. Rick married Sarah Lane in 2000 and lived with her and their daughters in Loudoun County for over 15 years. Rick had worked as an IT consultant for many years, and was most recently the Director of Solutions Engineering at Impexium in Tyson's Corner, VA.

Rick was a devoted and loving husband and father. He is survived by his wife Sarah, and their daughters, Rachel and Noelle, and also his brother Charles and wife, Angelica, and their daughters, Emily and Elizabeth, along with many other loving family members and friends. Rick was a family man and was beloved for his wonderful sense of humor. Rick was an active member of St. David's Episcopal Church in Ashburn, VA and he enjoyed volunteering for the REACH mission trips through the church. He loved to grill out and spend time with his family. Rick loved music and was an avid skier, kayaker and loved any outdoor activity. He had a way of bringing out a smile and laugh from all he was with.

A Celebration of Rick's Life will be held at St. David's Episcopal Church, 43600 Russell Branch Parkway, Ashburn, VA on Saturday, May 20 ^th at 1pm. A reception will follow at a nearby location and details will be given at the service. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Team Rubicon in Rick's name. www.teamrubiconusa.org
