Richard H. Hammond, Jr. of Dale City, Virginia has passed away. He was 59 years old. One of four children, Richard was born in Arlington, Virginia to parents Mary (White) and Richard H. Hammond, Sr. He was a carpenter, working in the construction field.

Though he is gone, his memories will continue to live on in the family he leaves behind. Surviving are his mother, Mary L. Hammond of Falls Church, Virginia; her companion and dear friend, William E. Pearson; maternal grandmother, Margaret H. White; brother William "Mike" Hammond and wife Lori of Lake Wilderness, Virginia; sister, Mary L. Meredith of Dale City, Virginia; 2 nieces and 2 nephews. Preceding him in death were his father, Richard H. Hammond, Sr. and sister Deborah Davis.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. at the Colonial Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry Road NE, Leesburg, Virginia 20176. A service will immediately follow starting at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial to follow in Union Cemetery, Leesburg, Virginia. Pastor Barney Schwanke will be officiating.
