Obituary
Richard Temple Shafer, of Leesburg, Virginia, died on Monday, September 8, 2008 at Heritage Hall in Leesburg. Mr. Shafer was born in Loudoun County, Virginia on September 6, 1919 to Floyd Richard Shafer and Bertis Catherine (Mason) Shafer. He was a Maintenance Worker for the Federal Government.
He is survived by his son, Larry R. Shafer of Maryland; step-son, Michael E. Kibler and his wife Audrey of Leesburg, VA; and step-daughter Carolyn (Kibler) Bryant and her husband Charles of New Jersey. Also surviving are six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Shafer, his first wife Mary Miller, his son Douglas L. Shafer, and his sister Catherine Shafer Gill.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, September 11, 2008 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 Noon at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 12:30 PM at Hillsboro Cemetery, Hillsboro, VA.
