Richard Ray Wyly, Jr., 55, of Leesburg, Virginia, died peacefully at his home on December 23, 2015 surrounded by his family.
Richard was devoted to his wife of 20 years, Ellen, and cherished his daughters, Sarah, 18, and Jenna, 16. An avid skier, he supported his daughters through ski racing season, capturing all of their special moments in pictures. Fly fishing was his passion and he took every opportunity he could to be on a river or enjoying nature, always ready to teach someone and share his joy.
Richard touched the lives of so many people throughout his lifetime: family, friends, and colleagues. He graduated from Palos Verdes High School and earned his degree in Graphic Communications from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, CA. Richard spent most of his professional life in Northern Virginia in technology sales.
In addition to his immediate family, Richard is survived by his father, Richard Wyly, Sr.; mother, Gayle Hawkins; brother, Eric Wyly; and sister, Paula Wyly.
The family will receive friends on December 29th from 2:00-3:00 pm with a Memorial Service scheduled for 3:00 pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry Road NE, Leesburg, Virginia 20176.
