Robert Bush, age 76, of Ashburn, VA passed away on September 10, 2025.

Robert was born on December 23, 1948 in Syracuse, New York to Robert and Mary Bush. Robert—known as "Bobby" to his parents and siblings—grew up playing baseball and the love of the game stayed with Bob his whole life.

Bob attended Christian Brothers academy in Syracuse, NY. Bob's family moved to Falls Church, VA when he was in high school, and he attended O' Connell High School where he met his wife of 54 years, Paula Glod. He then attended Notre Dame University before coming back to Virginia and starting a family. He spent most of his career in the construction industry starting very early as a carpenter and making his way up to Construction Engineer and Specialist in construction administration. At the height of his career, he worked on the construction team for multiple renovation and addition projects at Ronald Reagan National Airport and on the renovation of Dulles Airport that included the Tram, security check point, and new air traffic control tower.

In his free time, he loved watching baseball and football ( Go Irish! ), reading, traveling, and taking photographs while on vacation. He had an appreciation for classic cars, enjoyed attending classic car shows, and collecting model replicas. Bob was the life of the party, he loved his music, and was always the first one on the dance floor. He spread joy and laughter wherever he went. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Bob is survived by his wife, Paula Bush; his daughter, Allison Dar and son-in-law, Jawad Dar;  his daughter-in-law, Maylee Bush; and his grandson, Xander Bush; as well as all his brothers and sisters, numerous nieces and nephews, and their families in Chicago, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his mother and father, and his son, Ian Bush.

A wake will be held at Colonial Funeral Home of Leesburg from 6-8 PM on Thursday, September 18, 2025. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025 at 1:30 PM at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Leesburg, VA.
