Robert Carlton (Bob) Simpson

September 24, 1936 - May 12, 2021

A native of Alexandria, Virginia, Bob died of natural causes on May 12 after a short residence at Inova Loudoun Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Leesburg, Va. He previously lived at Sunrise of Countryside in Sterling, Va. for 11 years. Bob attended George Washington High School in Alexandria and was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps Reserves. He proudly worked for the U.S Postal Service for 42 years and was a devoted, lifelong fan of the Washington Redskins. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, lifelong Alexandria residents John William Simpson and Margaret Rudd Simpson, and his elder brother, John Rudd (Jack) Simpson. He is survived by his younger brother, William D. Simpson (Charlene) of Ashburn, Va.; nieces Linda Simpson, Janet S. Darwick (Shane), Kristen S. Creighton (Paul), Kelly S. Peters (William) and nephew Steve Wines as well as multiple great-nieces and great-nephews.

Bob will be laid to rest next to his beloved parents in Alexandria's Presbyterian Cemetery; a family graveside service will be held at a later date.
