Robert M. Gaynor, 63, a native of Norwalk, CT, died Wednesday May 14, 2014. at Inova Loudon Nursing and Rehabilitation in Leesburg ,VA after a brief illness.
Bob was born in Norwalk, the son of Robert A. Gaynor and Margaret Riordan Gaynor. He attended St. Mary's/St. Phillip's School and Fairfield Preparatory School where he was an outstanding diver on the Prep swim team. Following college at The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA he pursued his passion for music. He was a founding member, lead singer and songwriter for the Roadducks-a hugely popular rock band which has been performing in the Washington, D.C. area for nearly forty years. Bob also lived for a number of years in Litchfield, CT performing as a solo artist.
Bob is survived by his brother, Thomas Gaynor and his wife Tody of Bethlehem, CT and his sister, Margaret Gaynor of Litchfield as well as several cousins and many, many dear friends.
There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
