Robert "Bob" Matthew Voltz of Ashburn, Virginia passed away on August 19, 2024. He was a loving husband, devoted father, and cherished friend, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Born on June 5, 1962, in Bellevue, Pennsylvania, Bob was the son of Mary Borman and Charles Voltz. He spent his formative years in Bellevue playing football, hunting, fishing, and spending quality time with loved ones.
Bob graduated from Northgate High School, class of 1980, and pursued a Bachelor of Computer Science while playing football at Shippensburg University.
Bob was a dedicated project manager and systems engineer with a concentration in biometric identification technology. He was known for his hard work and orientation to detail.
Bob was the beloved spouse of Erma Voltz with whom he shared 23 years. They enjoyed traveling and spending weekends with friends. They were soulmates and the strength of their love for each other was evident throughout their marriage.
Bob was the proud father of Kelly, Garret, and Devin who will remember him as a model of unwavering support and a source of cherished memories. His example and his love will continue to guide them throughout their lives.
In addition to his family, Bob was a loyal and true friend to many. His kindness, wit, and generosity left a lasting impact on everyone he met. He was always ready with a helping hand and a heart full of compassion.
Bob is survived by his wife Erma Voltz; children Kelly (Mathieu) Bogrand, Garret (soon-to-be Victoria) Voltz, and Devin McDonough; and siblings Charles (Paula) Voltz, Dave (Kim) Voltz, Jon (Joyce) Voltz, and Nancy (Sherwood) Lessig. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary
Borman and Charles Voltz.
A memorial service to honor Bob's life will be held on September 5th at 11 AM at Christian Fellowship Church, 44505 Atwater Drive Ashburn, VA 20147. Friends and family are invited to gather to celebrate his life and share their memories. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
Bob will be remembered as a true gentleman and his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
Rest in peace, Bob. You will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
