It is with profound sadness and much love that we announce the passing of Robert N. ("Bob") Tomasko of Ashburn, Virginia, on Wednesday, September 27th, 2023, at the age of 87.   He was the son of Michael and Sophia Tomasko.   He was preceded in death by his siblings Michael Tomasko, Frank Tomasko, and Marian Patuzzi.

Bob was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut and attended Fairfield University.   He graduated with a degree in physics.  Then he proudly served his country in the Army.  He continued his career working as a civil servant with the U.S. Navy.  Bob was a loving father and doting grandfather.   He was a creative storyteller for his grandchildren and was a loyal Commanders fan.  Friends and family knew him for warm smiles and humorous jokes.

He will be lovingly remembered by his son, Rob Tomasko; his daughter, Kathy Faist; his daughter-in-law, Debbie Tomasko; and his son-in-law, Garland Faist; as well as four granddaughters: Emily, Amanda, Julia, and Rachel.  He will be missed dearly.

A funeral service will be held at Colonial Funeral Home in Leesburg, Virginia on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at 11:00 am; visitation will be held one-hour prior. Interment will follow at Quantico National Cemetery in Triangle, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the USO.
