Robert C. Preston, 71, of Ladysmith passed away Thursday, August 20, 2015 at the University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville. Born November 1, 1943 in Washington, D.C. to the late Rose Marie Preston. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran. He was a member of the Warrenton American Legion Post 0072.

He was employed with Safeway over 19 years, and retired from Giant Food, Inc. with 21 years of service.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Tina J. Preston; son, Sean Preston (Tracy) of Jeffersonton, Virginia; daughter, Laura Milsop (Bill) of Bowling Green, Virginia; and five grandchildren.

Bob was an avid sports enthusiast, enjoyed gardening, spending time with grandkids, family and friends.

Graveside services will be held Monday, August 31 at 11:00 a.m. at Union Cemetery in Leesburg, Virginia 20176.

Following the graveside service everyone is invited to a reception held at Harmony United Methodist Church, 380 East Colonial Highway, Hamilton, Virginia 20158.
