Robert Forbes Snyder (Bob), 88, died peacefully at his home in Leesburg, Virginia, on Sunday, March 26, 2017. He leaves his wife of 62 years, Beatrice M. Snyder (Bea); four daughters - Lynne (Howard) Sinder, Robin (John) Hoffman, Stacey Miller (Edward Metcalfe), Amy (Stephen) Tomkowicz; and five grandchildren - Bradford Hoffman, Christopher Hoffman, Alyssa Tomkowicz, Heather Tomkowicz and Kylie Miller, along with many close friends. Bob was born in Schenectady, New York and was the son of Eldora (Forbes) and Harry Snyder. After serving in the US Naval Air during WWII, he attended Hofstra University where he met his wife Bea and earned a degree in Applied Physics. He went on to have a prolific career in aerospace engineering that spanned decades. In his retirement, Bob was a proud volunteer for seventeen years at Inova Loudoun Hospital. A gathering of remembrance for family and friends will be held at the Colonial Funeral Home (201 Edwards Ferry Road, NE Leesburg, Virginia) on Thursday, March 30, 2017 from 6pm – 8pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church (55 Oakcrest Manor Drive, NE, Leesburg, Virginia) on Friday, March 31 ^, 2017 at 10:00am. Immediately following the mass will be a graveside burial in the St. John the Apostle Cemetery and a reception at the Church Fellowship Hall.

In lieu of sending flowers, the family suggests that you buy a flower for yourself and enjoy its beauty while thinking of Bob.
